Thanks to everyone who participated. We are already making plans for next year!

We'll See You in 2025!

The 2024 edition of the Tobin T1D Golf Classic was a roaring success. We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to all our volunteers, sponsors and especially our players for making the event one to remember. The funds raised at this event will help so many people.

We have worked passionately for years to fulfill the mission of Breakthrough T1D (formerly JDRF): to find a cure for T1D and its complications by supporting research, developing treatments, and focusing on prevention.

Please make plans to join us next year. We will update our website as soon as more details are available.

We can't wait until next year!

Our Organizers

The Tobin family have been a driving force in raising awareness for type 1 diabetes (T1D) research for over three decades. They know first-hand the challenges of those who live with it every day.  When their daughter Candice was diagnosed as a child, Walter and Bernice passionately adopted the mission of Breakthrough T1D (formerly JDRF): to find a cure for T1D and its complications by supporting research, developing treatments, and focusing on prevention.

Due to advancements in research, Candice lives a healthy life while using an insulin pump and continuous glucose monitor, but there are still challenges and the risk of long-term complications.

For Walter and Bernice, Candice is the inspiration for continuing to support Breakthrough T1D and moving forward toward a life without type 1 diabetes.

Breakthrough T1D is the leading global advocacy organization, funding research and helping to make everyday life better for people living with type 1 diabetes, while driving toward a cure.  Type 1 diabetes is a chronic autoimmune disease.  This means that it doesn’t go away.  Anyone can be diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at any age, though it is usually diagnosed in childhood or adolescence.  T1D is not influenced by factors such as lifestyle, activity level, socioeconomic status, or habits.  The diagnosis can’t be prevented, and at present, there is no cure.  Your contribution will move us much closer to a world without TID.

Since Candice was diagnosed, the Tobins, along with friends, family and community members have volunteered and raised funds for more than 30 years.  With your support, they hope to surpass their 2024 fundraising goal of $20,000 to continue to drive research towards improved treatments and a cure for type 1 diabetes.  They strongly believe that there will be a cure in Candice’s lifetime.

As Walter says; "People are the lifeblood of the organization, invite the best and most talented people available."  Please join us in supporting this worthy cause to benefit T1D research.
